No. Cruise passengers can utilise the Cruise ship shuttle services to and from Dunedin port. In Dunedin, the drop off/pick up point is “The Octagon”, which is a 500-meter, gentle stroll, to the Dunedin Railway Station (approximate 7 min walk).
This is for passengers from Ovation of the Seas and Celebrity Edge. For Quantum of the Seas guests, transfers will also be available on request from the Pounamu Tourism Group/Operator. Local tour operator, Exploring New Zealand, is providing transportation from the Cruise ship to Dunedin Railway Station along with a brief city tour. Transfer from the port to the train station which departs the wharf at 09:30. A bonus one-hour city tour prior to your arrival at the historic Dunedin Railway Station to embark on your Train tour. Passengers are required to board the Train, unaided. Carriages are 1940’s vintage and not the same height as ground level, therefore for safety reasons, passengers must be able to climb 3 vertical steps, unaided. Lightweight foldable walking aides can be transported in the luggage hold of the van during the service.
